Friday Reads!
A Wrinkle in Time - Madeleine L'Engle

Cannonball Read’s first #CannonBookClub of 2018 starts tomorrow and runs through Saturday. In anticipation of the soon-to-be released big screen adaptation, they’re taking on Madeleine L’Engle’s A Wrinkle In Time. Everyone’s welcome in their discussion - you don’t even have to be signed up to review for CBR10 to chime in. So whether you’ve read or reread or (gasp!) didn’t even finish the book, head on over to their site, and speak your mind. We know how you love to do that! (Cannonball Read 10)

How to Stop Time - Matt Haig

2.5 stars raised to 3.

I really tried to like this book. I saw so many 4 and 5 star reviews, I just knew it had to be good. Well, 56% of the way to the end, I said "never mind, I just don't get it". I read two other books while reading this one and they were excellent.

I'm putting this one back on the shelf. I seriously could not get into this book or care about Tom.

Thanks to Penguin Group Viking and Net Galley for providing me with a free e-galley in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

Book is Good but Audio is Better
This Time Together: Laughter and Reflection - Carol Burnett

I grew up watching Carol Burnett, I saw her in a few movies and as a guest star. She is a phenomenal talent. Reading this book and listening to her telling (audio) of the book allowed a new insight into her life and career. Moments that were filled with laughter, moments where you appreciated how hard she worked to get to her dream and one moment where you heard all the emotion as she read her daughter's obituary. Yes, I actually cried at hearing the emotion in her voice describing her daughter's death. The reading was good, but hearing her tell the story was even better.

This Time Together: Laughter and Reflection - Carol Burnett Oh Carol, I feel like we are close enough I can call you by your first name. I cried ugly tears after that story. What am amazing girl, what an encounter.

Lucy, oh Lucy was a power to us all. Carol's honesty and lack of pettiness in her business is amazing
