My Thoughts

This series is the cat's meow and dog's bark and the ram's bahhhaah…all that shit and more…It's not going to be for everyone…but damn, it should be.  I think so, anyway.  The format is crazy, and it (for me) may be part of what makes it so good…that, and the amazing and intricate plot.  Nothing is off limits in this series.

I read this both from a hardcover book (that my daughter bought me for Christmas) and a Kindle eBook that I borrowed from the library at the same time.  I'm so glad that I did it this way.  Because…the eBook is good for low lighting and when I was at work, seriously though, that book is lug…and the actual lug of a book is perfect for those pages with small, teeny tiny pictures/documents and such on them.  I flipped back and forth between the two constantly.  I also used an Audible credit for the Audiobook of Gemina, which I plan to listen to right before Obsidio comes out in March, 2018.

Will I continue this series⇜  Damn Straight!!!

My Thoughts

This Series has rocked, with each book upping the stakes and becoming more entwined with the next and the previous.  Seriously, just fantastic.  I highly recommend it.  After book 1, I really only liked Cassie and Dean, but as the series progresses I've come to love all these characters, yeah…even Michael has grown on me, some.  Sloan is my new favorite now, just for her comic relief, she's so serious with her on cue randomness.  Lia, it turns out is much more complex than I originally thought.  You really learn a lot about Lia in this final book, and her story is rather mind-blowing.

Will I read more from this Author Yes, yes and Hell yes!

You know how to avoid the underwhelming 2nd book in a trilogy…make it a duology and the problem is solved. At least with this duo it is.

My Thoughts

First off I want to thank Paula Stokes for making sure I received an arc of this personally

I feel that Ferocious rocked for a second/final book.  It's well paced, action packed, and never boring.  In my review for Vicarious I said this is a toned down not-quite-so-violent Kill Bill meets Strange Days, and this is true for the second book too…just less Strange Days and more Pretty Girl-13, which is another story about a girl with DID. It also has the added bonus of Jesse and Winter's romance…so sweet and blended in seamlessly with all the action going on.

This begins right where book 1 left off…and has Winter more than ready to get her revenge on Kyung for everything he has done to her family.  Once the setting changes to Seoul, everything ratchets up a notch.  The food, people and culture descriptions, are so well researched I felt like I was there myself.

Oh yeah...one more thing...this duo would make an excellent movie or movies.

That in the bitter end

We're gonna be the last ones standing

⇝OVERALL RATING⇜

5/5 STARS

A+

My Thoughts

The Unknown Series has everything I want in a dystopian romance.  Amazing characters, a tenable premise, and sweet angst.  Supplemented with some kick-ass action scenes, and stellar writing, and it's damn near perfect.  My only issue with Unrest in particular, is I wanted to kick Amber and Rylan's ass; for taking so long to admit things to each other.  At least a little bit.

Lots of info in this one about Cinder, Cress, Winter, the Wolf/Man hybrids, and about how and why, Levana is such a lunatic.  When I asked someone if I needed to read this before reading Winter; I was told I really should…and…I'm really glad I did!
