The Ghost Wore Yellow Socks (The Ghost Wore Yellow Socks, #1) by Josh Lanyon Review
The Ghost Wore Yellow Socks - Josh Lanyon

His romantic weekend in ruins, shy twenty-something artist Perry Foster learns that things can always get worse when he returns home from San Francisco to find a dead body in his bathtub. A dead body in a very ugly sportscoat -- and matching socks. The dead man is a stranger to Perry, but that's not much of a comfort; how did a strange dead man get in a locked flat at the isolated Alton Estate in the wilds of the "Northeast Kingdom" of Vermont? Perry turns to help from "tall, dark and hostile" former navy SEAL Nick Reno -- but is Reno all that he seems?

4 Stars for the wonderful old fashion who done it in a cold Vermont winter and the writing.

3 Stars for the romance. I loved Perry but Nick stayed too closed off for me to get real joy out of the love story.

However, this was great sneaking around a creepy house trying to solve a crime fun.

Toe-Up Two at a Time Socks
Toe-Up 2-At-A-Time Socks: Yet Another Revolution in Knitting Two at Once on One Circular Needle! Includes 15 New Sock Patterns - Melissa Morgan-Oakes

I like to make socks and frequently look at sock patterns to make socks. I also recently received two very nice skeins of sock yarn from a friend that I am excited to make socks with. She uses sock yarns to make some very beautiful lacework shawls (she is very talented). This book was very discounted a couple of weeks ago and I bought it as it has some skills that I want to learn. I will practice with the new yarns and make some two at a time socks for me and my girls.

Knitting Socks
Socktopus: The Knitter's Guide to Designing Socks - Alice Yu

I love to borrow books from my local libraries. I love that I can go to different libraries and borrow knitting and crochet books as they don't all have the same. I found this book at the Mary L Cook Library in Waynesville, OH.

Another thing, I love to knit and crochet and I do enjoy making socks, but I like to stay home to work on them or sit somewhere quiet to knit on them. So I borrow Sock books frequently.

This book was fun to look at and read the patterns. There were some that could be generic (male/female), but mostly they were for women/girls. This book had many different looks to the socks and one showed a fun pinwheel heel. I would love to try that. I do copy the patterns from the book in order to make some of them. It is always a good idea to copy the pattern from the book so you can mark on it as you are making the pattern. You really don't want to mark up a book you buy or a book you borrow.

I recommend this book to anyone who knits and loves to make socks. If you look at it what was your favorite pattern?
