So Evie gave her virginity to Matt. Matt (drunk) proceeds to tell his friends about it. They in turn, (because of course they do) label Evie a slut. Matt then leaves for a military career and Evie is left behind. As soon as she can, she leaves her small town too. She ends of back in her small town after her lover steals all her money and she is forced to close her restaurant. Matt is back in town for his sister's wedding.
I liked Matt a lot more than Evie. Evie had moments that I thought were TSTL (like not staying where Matt tells her to stay). Both brought up the past way too much. Just get over it already! I did like the suspense. The ending was nice and one I could believe.

HOT Valor is the book the fans of the Hostile Operations Team books have been waiting for. Colonel John Mendez finally got his book and it was absolute perfection. I loved every single minute of reading HOT Valor. I will be very vague in my review as I don't want to give away any important details to the story, so I'm just going with my feelings with this book.

First of all Mendez/Viper remains my absolute favorite character in this series. I love that even when he is set up to take the fall, he will do everything within his powers to protect both is country and the men and women in his command. Seriously reading HOT Valor only made me fall more in love with Mendez. I found myself experiencing so many emotions along with the characters. Seriously time with Mendez and Kat about ripped my heart out at times. As the back cover copy says Kat is really Valentina, and she had to fake her death to protect Mendez, it killed me when they would talk about the past and she couldn't tell him everything. 

I was pleasantly surprised to actually enjoy the amount of time Ian Black was featured in HOT Valor. I've always thought there was more to him than we knew, and really loved seeing him in a bit of a different light. I really do want him to get his story at some point in the future now. I will say I expected to be more surprised by the reveal of Phoenix than I was, but honestly it made perfect sense for this person to be Phoenix all along.

HOT Valor has all the action and adventure I've come to expect from the Hostile Operations Team series as well as a rip your heart out romance with a crying happy tears resolution. I've loved so many books in this series, but have to say HOT Valor is my absolute favorite. I highly recommend HOT Valor as well as the entire series.

Reckless Heat by Lynn Raye Harris is a well written book.  Ms Harris has delivered a story of teenage angst and heartache that will capture your attention and hold it to the end. The characters in Reckless Heat are phenomenal.  There's plenty of drama and a bit of sizzle to keep the pages turning.  This book is a bit of a cliff-hanger as it's a prequel to Hot Pursuit.   I enjoyed this book, and that's saying a lot because I avoid books about teens.  I look forward to reading more from Lynn Raye Harris in the future.

I am a huge fan of the Hostile Operations Team series and adored Matt and Evie's story in book 1. I absolutely love that we got a chance to see them as teenagers in Reckless Heat. Reckless Heat is a novella length story and a super fast read.

I guess since Matt and Evie were the first couple in the Hostile Operations Team series, they have an extra special place in my heart. I love a friends to lovers story and when you add in a reunion story, you have me from page one.

Reckless Heat is Matt and Evie's story from the last few weeks they spend together before he heads off to West Point. I love that Evie and Matt where best friends from the time they were pretty young. I also absolutely loved that Evie had a crush on Matt and although he did know it, he really didn't want to do anything to possibly mess up their friendship. However, what teenage boy is going to turn down a teenage girl, even when it's his very best friend in the world?

Honestly I though Matt was super sweet with Evie and I knew he didn't want to hurt her, but being a teenage guy, he just messed up once the deed was actually done. Of course Evie totally looked like she had been in the backseat with Matt and he was a total tool to brag to all his friends. Reckless Heat made me think of a high school keg party on the weekend and watching your best friend's drama play out before everyone. My heart broke for both Evie and Matt since neither really knew how to fix the situation.

Reckless Heat was a super fast read for me. I loved the story came from alternating points of view and it is in first person point of view for those readers who aren't huge fans of first person point of view. I have no trouble with it and though it especially worked well with this story. I felt like I got new insight into Matt and Evie's relationship by seeing them together when they were teenagers.

My Review:

I am so past being burnt out on sibling romance stories at this point... Harris writes a great story I can't not give her credit for her fantastic romantic thrillers because she's absolutely phenomenal at it, Chase and Sophie are hot characters and the sex is great but but the sibling dynamic just doesn't work for me anymore.
