Assassin of Truths!!!
Assassin of Truths - Brenda Drake

First things first: I received this book through NetGalley.

This is the last book in the Library Jumpers Trilogy.

I finished another series/trilogy. This is my mission this year, finishing series or at least catching up on series that are still not finished. So far I'm doing pretty good. Yay me!

Summary (cause it's not that spoilery): The gateways linking the great libraries of the world don’t require a library card, but they do harbor incredible dangers.

And it’s not your normal bump-in-the- night kind. The threats Gia Kearns faces are the kind with sharp teeth and knifelike claws. The kind that include an evil wizard hell-bent on taking her down.

Gia can end his devious plan, but only if she recovers seven keys hidden throughout the world’s most beautiful libraries. And then figures out exactly what to do with them.

The last thing she needs is a distraction in the form of falling in love. But when an impossible evil is unleashed, love might be the only thing left to help Gia save the world.

I was back in the world right from the beginning, I especially loved that we got a few reminders of what happened before. It was enough to jog my memory but not too much that it got repetetive (look at me using new words). I also loved that we gt right back into action, that's what I love about these books, they are just so action filled.

I just love these characters in this story. Gia is an amazing character, the author doesn't go the route of making her a strong character by never having her cry, WHICH I LOVE. You can be strong and still show emotions. There was also some mystery about Gia and her globes, that I won't go in detail about but that I totally loved. Emily was also back, while I strongly disliked her in the second book until we figured some stuff out, I loved her in this final book. She was amazing. Like always I enjoyed every moment that had Nana, Pop and Afton in it. But also the other sentinels like Lei (my favorite ducky), Jaran (his friendship with Gia will always be my absolute favorite!), and Demos.

I still couldn't care less about Nick (I mean I feel for him, but I wasn't a big fan of him before everything went down, so) or Bastien. I'm sorry, I just can't. This is also why I read everything relating to Gia and Bastien very loosely. I can't. And Arik, ARIK. Good god, how I miss that dude from book one. Book two was a mess when it came to him. The beginning of this book, I couldn't deal with him and was very glad to see things change around the middle towards the end. I love Arik with all my heart, but damn, it's been a rough time.

Another part that I truly enjoyed in this book, was seeing the fairy realm, seeing all the other havens and covens. I just love all the world building, it was beautiful and just so very well done.

Overall, I truly enjoyed this trilogy. Not everything went how I wanted it to go but I can live with that, I still liked it alot.

Guardian of Secrets!!!
Guardian of Secrets - Brenda Drake

First things first: I received this book through NetGalley.

I'm still not sure about the rating. I loved the first book, the second one frustrated me a lot and sometimes made me wanna skip chapters and parts of the story. But that was just about the relationship stuff. I don't know.

Let me start to talk about the things that I really enjoyed in the book.

The search for all the Chiavi and the places it took Gia and Nick. That's what I love about the story, that it isn't just based around libraries in the USA, but actually around the world and that we actually see them go these places. Loved it.

Also there is something about the fightin scenes in the books, that is just incredible. They are intense and so well described, love it.

Character- and relationshipwise. I loved how much the relationship between Gia and Deidre grew. In the beginning, Deidre kinda had to find herself for a bit and not just be a copy of Gia and then they could finally build their friendship and actually acted like sisters towards each other. LOVED IT. I was also happy to see characters like Nana and Afton show up once in a while. And Faith. FAITH!!!!! I just love Faith so much and I'm bitter, I'm very bitter about things that happend. BITTER. I also loved the friendship between Gia and Jaran, how he was there for her and took care of her when she was a total mess.

Now let's get to the spoilery part, normally I wouldn't mention them in reviews but I need to talk about it. Now. So I'm serious, don't read further if you don't wanna read spoilers. Don't.

Arik. Arik and Emily. I knew he was spelled somehow. Cause the Arik we got as soon as he got together with Emily, wasn't the Arik that I loved in the first book. So either the author decided to completely change his character or something fishy was going on with Emily. And I was so happy that Gia thought that as well and that she actually had Jaran looking for any marks or tattoos on Ariks body. BUT YOU IDIOTS DIDN'T LOOK HARD ENOUGH. When they figured out there wasn't a mark/tattoo and then Gia thought about Arik's hair being longer, I just screamed at her to look at his damn neck.

But no. No. This was just the opening for Gia and Bastien becoming a thing. And ugh, no. No, I'm not a fan. That were the parts I was so frustrated with that I wanted to skip them. Ooops, no offence to everyone liking them, I just don't.

The only good thing about Gia and Bastien falling into the thing whose name I can't remember right now, was that they found Gian (alive!!!) and Royston (THE ONE!!!).

I'm mad, that we actually lost Gian at the end of the book. I'm mad about Kale. And I'm super mad about Faith. Cause Faith was my baby. UGH!!!!!

Thief of Lies!!!
Thief of Lies - Brenda Drake

Let me just start by saying, that this could easily turn into one of my favorite series. I mean, I sure hope that there will be lots of books revolving around the story and the characters.

I love the story. Gia, the main character just stumbling into the world of the Sentinels, who jump from library to library to keep the world save of mystical bad guys and hounds all these other creatures. I love the world, the jumping between all these libraries in different parts of the world. The mystical creatures. Everything. And boy, do I love the characters.

I LOVE Gia as a main character. She is awkward, she is clumsy but man, this girl can fight when she has to. I love Afton, her best friend. I love love love the Sentinels. Like, ALL OF THEM. And Gia's grandma and her dad Faith. I need so much more Faith.

I love the relationships. The friendship between Gia, Afton and Nick. I'm not sure of Nick as a main character just yet. I love the bond between all the Sentinels. I love the family feels I got with Gia and her grandma and her dad. And Gia with her newfound family. I seriously love everything. What I don't like is the betrothal storyline, mainly because I'm Team Gia, let the girl decide for herself who she wants. And I'm glad that for now she decided on Arik, cause right after being Team Gia, I'm Team Arik.

Overall, I really REALLY love everything. The writing is so good and just makes it a fun and easy book to read. I started the second book right away (thanks Netgalley/Entangled Teen) and can't wait to see what awaits the characters this time.

Library Jumpers
Library Jumpers - Brenda Drake Library Jumpers - Brenda Drake Imagine being able to visit any library in the world with just a key phrase… pretty cool, right? This becomes a reality for Gia. She doesn’t know she do it until quite possibly the most handsome guy she’s ever seen vanishes. This starts a journey she couldn’t even dream of, but was destined for! One wizard wants total control and revenge, however there’s a prophecy claiming a child born to two Sentinels will be the one to stop him. Is Gia the child of the prophecy? If so, will she be brave enough to stop the horrible wizard?

This was an action packed story that flowed quite well. That being said, there was so much going on that at times it was just too much. The world building was a bit slow, but if you’ve ever been to Boston you will have a few points of references. What I found fascinating was the world building of the mystical world and the magic within it. The bravery of Gia and the sincerity of Arik made this an interesting story. The slow build of their romance was perfect. This is set up to be an amazing series and I can’t wait to follow and see where it leads!

I Wish I could go jumping into different Libraries!!!!!!
Thief of Lies (Library Jumpers) - Brenda Drake

Finally a book that got me out of a reading slump.

I really enjoyed this book a lot, I really loved the storyline and I loved the cover. At first I wasn't sure if the cover matched the storyline. But as you start reading the story the cover does fit the storyline.

I really loved the main character Gia, and her two best friends Nick and Afton. I do have to warn you there is a triangle actually there are two. One has to do with Gia, Arik, and another guy who shows up later. Even though for right now at least Gia is saying she just wants one of them. She does have a connection with the other guy, she just doesn't want to admit.

The other one is with Nick, Afton, and another girl who I am not going to name either, and right now Nick just wants to be with the other girl. I love when Nick finds out whom he is related to. I really love Nick a lot and I hope he ends up with Afton.

I am not really sure who I want Gia to end up with as of right now, even though I think I like the other guy a little more. Even though I like Arik as well, but the other guy is being patient.

I really loved Gia's one power, and I enjoy the storyline and the way this book ended. I will be on a book tour in February for the next book in this series so I can't wait to find out what adventure Gia, Nick, Afton, etc get into next. I also hope the other guy is in it more, since he came into the storyline much later than Arik. The story did take sometime to really get exciting since at first it was setting up everything. But once it took off it stayed exciting. I can't wait to start the next book in the series.
