A Modern Vision On Climate Change

After reading Nathaniel Rich's book called "Losing Earth" I think that many people condider that climate change is a natural phenomenon produce by the Sun and not by the human activity on the planet.

There are several forms of energy that are cleaner and can replace the dirty fossil fuels for energy and heat production, but we still rely on these fosil resources for power generation.

In fact, only humans affect the environment on a large scale on our planet, because the members of the animal kingdom have a much greater respect for nature than us.

People throw garbage in nature and in the sea, burn fossil fuels for electricity and heat generation, cut the trees for the industry, for cooking and heating, and consume a large amount of natural resources such as arable land and drinking water (which are limited resources) for food production.

The number of people on the planet keeps growing and this will affect the environment, the animals, birds and marine life even more.

To stop global warming that leads to severe climate change, we have to stop the massive air, soil and water pollution produced every day by mankind.

We have to clean the oceans from garbage and plastics, to switch from fossil fuels to renewable energy, replace our car burning fossil fuels with an electric one that uses only electric motors powered by a battery to run.

The battery can be charged using renewable energy produced by solar PV panels or wind turbines, and this way we are no longer polluting the air while using the car.

Instead of coal, oil, diesel fuel or wood, we can use natural gas for residential heating, which is a low-carbon fuel, however, to be 100% clean we can use geothermal energy (a geothermal heat pump), that will reduce the carbon-footprint of your household and will also help you pay smaller energy bills.

I suggest you to read Nathaniel Rich's book to better understand what climate change really represent for the life on planet Earth.
