Picking Robots Are Used For:
Picking robots are used in many ways, depending on the product that can be handled and the manufacturer's need for automation. There are four main ways to select and place a robot:
Assembly:
During the assembly processes, these robots grab apart coming from a conveyor belt and then place the component on another workpiece, which is then moved by another conveyor belt.
Packaging:
Similar to assembly procedures, a raised robot grabs a part on the incoming conveyor belt. Instead of assembling the piece, the robot holds it in a packaging container at a high speed.
Bin lift:
These robots are equipped with advanced vision systems. They can take part in the bin, sometimes even when the components are mixed in a container, and place the piece on a conveyor for production.
Inspection:
The vision system can monitor moving products on incoming conveyor belts and detect faulty products. Then a pick and place robot can remove defective products before reaching the final stages of production. While picking robots are used in many ways, the four types of applications listed above are the most common in today's construction facilities.
