Information
Insanity - Cameron Jace

This image sum my feelings, I don't understand  Is she crazy or not ? Is wonderland real ? who is the pillar ? What's going on?

I'm so confused at the moment. Alice in wonderland is one of my favorite stories. i absolutely love it, So I grabbed this book when i saw it plus the cover is really pretty, i mean really really pretty.  Anyway the book idea is attractive Alice is hold in an asylum with no memories of her past. In addition she is convicted of murdering her classmates, when crisis hit (AKA the murdering and kidnapping of some girls) It is up to her to save them and unravel the truth in the process.

Some part of me wished that Alice would be a total nut shell, the murderess/ Serial killer type, however that didn't happen.Still she was crazy i think or not, I'm not really sure till now. she did accept things a little bit easily in my opinion but i can ignore that. My problem with this book is that I felt like the author was giving a tribute to Lewis Carroll, He gave most of the attention to the history behind Lewis and the book (Alice in wonderland) and that damaged the characters development. The characters were kinda flat. I almost felt like the character of the pillar is a walking Lewispedia, his main purpose in the story was to educate us. Which was informative if I'm being honest but it bored me a lot. Thus by the middle of the book i was quite desperate for the book to finish, but at the same time i wanted to figure out what is happening. Every time a character surface i kept wondering who could it be, and who will show up next. The mystery and the idea of the book is what boosted the book rating for me, plus the ending was epic it hooked me again.

See the problem I am facing i don't know if i like or hate this book, It bored me but still it kept my interest. I guess all i can say is that Insanity is a confusing book from the start to the end with a lot of information about the history behind Alice in wonderland.

AH and the author basically diss Harry potter, which made me go

Just Saying

Anyway does anyone know a good retelling of Alice in wonderland ?

If so share it with me :)

His justice
Dark Triumph - Robin LaFevers

You can say that this book is Sybella arc, it is a continuation of the previous book. It picks up right where Grave Mercy stopped. We get to know where Sybella was these past months and what is her past. Plus, it sets the stage for Annith arc and the downfall of the abbess. Sybella was sent to the household of d'Albret to observe and collect information for the convent and the duchess, but new orders arrive. She has to rescue a knight imprisoned in the house. However things don't go as planed, and Sybella is set on a journey that will ultimately heal her.

This was definitely way better than the previous one. The tone was darker and better. The characters especially Sybella have more depth. One of the problems i had with Grave Mercy is that the characters seemed shallow, and i felt they didn't grow at all throughout the story. However, here the character development is evident. Sybella at the beginning was a tormented bitter character with insecurities. She was also at the edge of madness in a very dark place, but by the end of the book she was reborn.

Sybella has a love interest, the knight. The relationship between them progressed slowly and quite logically. Plus, it actually made a difference his presence gave a boost to her healing process. It also does not hurt that they totally fit together and their banter was fun to read. Speaking of banter since Sybella is a witty sharp tongue female, expect a lot of humor.

I was one of the people who got bored while reading Grave Mercy, thus i was hesitated to read this one. However because right from the start Sybella character intrigued me a lot,  i decided to read it and i was glad to discover that this book is fast pace and full of action. Yes action People,  Sybella is a total bad-ass assassin with flying knifes that she is not afraid to use.

Anyway, i am excited and curious about the next book. i can't help but wonder what role Annith will play in the trilogy storyline.

Perfect
Mistborn: The Final Empire - Brandon Sanderson

This was so good, I was at the edge of my seat most of the time. The world building is flawless everything fits together perfectly. No plot holes, No Wait what the hell or Wait how that happened. It is perfect. The concept is unique i mean really everything about this book is unique and new,  the magical system, the setting , and the villains

THE INQUISITORS.

Look at them, talk about a bad-ass creepy villains. I also loved how the book was thoroughly detailed, the way the author described everything from the environment to the characters outfits was so vivid, i almost felt like a part of the story. But what add a lot of flavor to the book are the characters, Oh my gosh the characters are so fucking awesome. The dialogs between them were hilarious. The relationships were beautiful. Even though the book is some how big depend from one person to another. it is action packed and the pace is fast. Event after event, no dull moment in between, plus it keeps you on your toes. It is unpredictable, i didn't know where it was headed, this why i got a lot of shocks reading it. Oh The shocks, i am still traumatized .

Long story short,  it just wonderful, if you are a fantasy lover,  read this book. I can't wait to read the second book and get answers.
