Sweet Heat at Bayside is the third book in the Sweet Version of Melissa Foster’s fabulous Bayside series, and after reading the steamy version this one is just as brilliant without the hot and heavy sex scenes.

Serena and Drake have been friends since childhood and she has crushed on him for all those years, but an almost kiss in high school where Drake pulls away see her put him to the back of her mind and moved on (to the outside world that is)

Faced with a wonderful job opportunity that will see her move to Boston and leave her friends and Drake behind, pushed her to tell him how she really feels but with the cards on the table what will become of their relationship? You will just need it to find out!

How Addison can take a truly steamy story and make it work as a sweet version is true magic, I don’t usually read the steamy then sweet so close together but you really do get the full force of the book, and I love that there are two versions, it means that everyone gets to enjoy a Melissa Foster book rewritten by Addison Cole in a such a sweet way that you don’t lose the sexiness from the other version.

I am totally and utterly in love with Addison’s Sweet with Heat series, whilst I love the previous steamy versions of these stories, this series opens up those books to a whole new audience (even got my mother into them!)

Parker Collins and Grayson Lacroux have been emailing each other for the past year – professionally I might add, as Grayson & his brother Hunter won the sculpting bid for Parker’s Foundation, now she is in town mourning the death of her friend and mentor Bert. Grayson walks in on her doing a tequila binge, and realises just how much she has impacted his heart over the last year.

The chemistry and romance between them just seems so natural since they practically know each other via all the emailing they have been doing. 

I loved watching their story play out and Parker relax and be welcomed into the Seaside group.

I love being transported to Seaside where it is always sunny, sandy and romantic, sand being swept away for a few hours from the dreary weather outside.

In this instalment we get the seriously hot Hunter Lacroux and feisty Jana Garner’s story. They have a habit of hooking up with each other but when Hunter decides he wants it to be more than a hookup not only does that scare the notorious player but it scares Jana too. She has had a string of bad relationships and she doesn’t want ruin what they have going on by making it a relationship.

But they give in and discover that their friends with benefits status becomes so much more, and they learn how to make a relationship work together.

Addison takes Hunter and Jana’s story and makes it hot and steamy without the action making this a clean romantic read.

Sweet Heat at Bayside is the perfect book about love, friendship, and family.     Never is there a doubt that these Bayside friends and family will protect, love, and help you with whatever you need.    Most of the time you do not even need to ask, they just do it and instinctively know what is needed at any given time, even if it is to leave a person alone to figure things out themselves.       The heat part of the story is my favorite.  Addison Cole writes a clean and steamy story.    She leaves some of the story to the readers imagination but leads them right to the edge before letting them go.    

While this is part of a series it can be read easily as a stand-alone story.   Each book is its own complete story with the characters from other books just checking in to let the reader know what is going on with them.   The past characters are just as fun to read about as the characters that the book is actually focused it.   You learn about babies, weddings, and anything else that is happening.    

Sweet Heat at Bayside tells the story of Drake and Serena.    They have been friends since childhood, best friends for many years, and have worked together for 4 years.    Circling each other, feeling the heat between them, but never acting on it is how their relationship has been.    The timing just never seemed right to move their relationship to the next level.    Yet, with Serena moving to Boston for a new job it is time for Drake to let his feelings out and oh was it wonderful.   There was no easing into it, no doubt of feelings, and no going slow.    Drake just jumped right in, took what he wanted and Serena loved every minute of it.    

As I am a big Addison Cole fan, I thought I knew what to expect.    She managed to surprise me with how much control Drake kept when it came to pushing Serena in their relationship.    He could have asked her to stay, asked her to move back, and Serena probably would have but he respected her so much that he never did.   He let her spread her wings, find her way, and supported her with each step.  

Pick up this book and the rest of Addison’s books.   They are sweet with heat.   They have amazing friendships and wonderful relationships.
