An excellent original fanfic from Nynxlynx. Dean, in mourning after Sam's death, is drawn into a parallel universe where an alternate darker Sam is trying to release his Dean from hell. Well-written apart from a few typos.

This is a novella, about paranormal beings known as Death Dealers, which for every sense of the word are death. A sect of beings who traded their mortal lives for personal reasons who now all serve under a boss who sends them to collect the souls of the dead and dying.
This book centers mainly around Mia with some additional centering around her partner Deacon.
I found the story an interesting one though found it far too short. It really left me wanting. I’m hoping the second book will fill in some of the blanks that this one failed to.
Don’t get me wrong, the story was well thought out, though the ending felt forced and hurried. I think perhaps the author should put a little more effort into the ending of this piece and others in this particular series.
I found a couple of errors but nothing drastic, the only problem I really had with the story was how it seemed the author was in a rush to complete it.
I liked the story itself, and will read the next in the series as well as other books the author has written, but I would consider maybe looking over the book and seeing if there is a way to complete the ending without it having that hurried, forced feeling.
In all honesty if the ending of this book didn’t seem to be rushed or forced, I would have given it a higher rating.

To avenge the murder of her parents, Mia signed her life away and became a ‘Death Dealer’, a guide of sorts to aid souls into the afterlife. Not as simple as it sounds, the job could, and quite often did become dangerous. When she finally thought justice would be served and she’d received the file to collect Claytons soul (her parents killer), she was devastated to discover not only had he got away with the murder in life, but since he’d recently repented he would also be free in death.

The Death Dealer, a novella and book 1 in ‘A Death Angel’ series, is a well written quick read covering a variety of emotions from sadness when she has to collect her Grandma’s soul, an adrenalin rush when her own life is in danger to anticipation when Deacon and Mia’s feelings for each other surface and we watch their love grow.

This instalment lays the background, giving us the reasons behind Deacon and Mia’s similar reasons for choosing this life and an insight into how everything works. I can see it being quite an interesting series.

The idea was great I hoped there's be more to explore in this paranormal world Ashley has created.

A fast paced book about a new paranormal being, at least in my opinion. Mia and Deacon are Death Dealers. The best way I can describe them is to think of them as Reapers, but they aren't angels. These are people who have signed up to transport souls to the gates of their deserved afterlife. After they achieve a certain amount of control over their powers, they can become members of the Elite. From the Elite, if they survive, they can become a Death Angel, an actual reaper if I understand it right. Their life isn't simple. They are responsible for pulling souls out of some bodies and just catching them when they pop out of others. Delivering them to their gate (light of dark) is a challenge itself. They transport souls to the ghostly realm, but have to walk to the gate. On the way, demons just may attack to try to steal souls for the Abyss (i.e. Hell) in order to disrupt the balance between light and dark.

This story is about Mia's past human life combined with her very reason for turning into a Death Dealer. Deacon has been her partner for the difficult cases, but recently she has discovered an unusual feeling about him. Deacon has noticed the same feeling, but neither has confessed it. After a terrible battle with a demon, feelings come to light. I am not going to say anything more than that because I would ruin the entire story. It's a really good story. I really liked how the characters develop. It's well worth reading and a great example of Ashley Robertson's writing.
