Tribulation Force - Tim LaHaye,Jerry B. Jenkins

I enjoyed this one as much as i did the first one, i think. These are making me want to learn more about what's actually going to happen.

They can occasionally be cheesy, but overall, i think the characters are well developed. The Antichrist is still creepy. I'm kind of afraid he'll lose that once he drops the mask, but we'll see.

I like how when a big event is coming up, the sections that the chapter is divided up into (switching between characters) are smaller. To me, it brings to mind a TV show or movie where images flash on the screen that carry important information and they're slowly brought together to reveal the conclusion that the audience has been waiting for. I don't know if that makes sense in writing. Haha. To me, it slows things down and increases the suspense, but not in an annoying way.

It annoyed me that they kept saying that the president gaveAir Force One to the Antichrist. It isn't Air Force One unless the president of the United States is on it. This particular plane was built to be used as Air Force One, but i don't think the president ever flew in it, so it was never actually Air Force One. I know they probably just called it that so that readers wouldn't miss that it was the US president's plane, but still...

I was "bemused" by a sentence saying that a couple of guys had "bemused, knowing looks". How does one look bemused and knowing at the same time? I don't understand. If you can see it, please let me know.

Edge of Apocalypse (The End Series #1) - Tim LaHaye,Craig Parshall

This book could almost be ripped right from today's headlines. I found some parallels between this book and Rosenberg's current political thriller series, which I also really am enjoying. I love it when talented authors present a fictional account of real world events occurring in End Times prophecy. I will continue to follow this series.

Thunder of Heaven - Tim LaHaye,Craig Parshall

I love this series. Again, end times books fascinate me to no end, and this book delivers in a way not seen in other end times series. I really like how many of the events that occur behind the political scenes seem to mirror what is going on right now in America. Can't wait until the next one is released.....

Brink of Chaos (End Series, The) - 'Tim LaHaye', 'Craig Parshall'

Disappointing ending (if it is the ending) to the Joshua Jordan trilogy as I found myself constantly wanting to get into this novel, but could not. The book had its moments, but overall I found a mash of thinly developed characters in a lot of different loose threads that just was not satisfying. I think trying to cram too many plot points and too many characters into too small a novel is usually a recipe for disaster, and this pretty much falls into that category. Read at your own risk.

Mark of Evil (The End Series) - Tim LaHaye,Craig Parshall

Mixed emotions on this one...love books about End Times and while this one was fairly well-written and had some good parts here and there, something was just missing. I think I can put it on a combination of slightly underdeveloped characters and a lack of necessary tension at the right moments that other End Times novels exhibit. I did enjoy how it was stressed during the Tribulation that the One World government would arise, and that they would stop at nothing to suppress Christianity for the "good of all people". Sound familiar? Time to wake up....
