Alex go saved the world... again
Eagle Strike - Anthony Horowitz

Alex when to the south of France with Sabrina and met Yassen. Alex knew nothing good when he was there and followed him.

In the process, he met the rich pop singer Damian Cray, en ego maniac who is actually a psychopath.

Alex when to the opening of a new game and played it. He has met Cray and found his creepy and have such an ego that he would cheat to get his way.

He couldn't leave it alone so he went to the MI6. No one believed him. Alex shared his identity with Sabrina and MI6 betrayed him by making him out to be a liar.

So he has to go at this alone. Jack believed him and they both go to find out what Cray evil plan.

In the meantime, Sabrina's father, a journalist was hurt by a terrorist attack. It was Cray. Sabrina's father was working on a story linking it to Cray and got hurt.

So Alex went into the compound to see for himself. He passed the gate, he also got some evidence that might spoil Cray plan.

A fast read with Alex Rider doing a lot of spying stuff. He was on his bike that was given to him with gadgets. Quite a lot of action and running around. The bad guy is obviously the bad guy.

The only surprise is how reluctant Yassen is unwilling to hurt Alex.

Sabrina is quite nice as an addition to the story. Only Jack knew about what Alex do and now Sabrina got involved, Alex is not so alone.

Fast read. Highly recommended.

Bald is on the chase
Most Wanted Mission 1: Chris Ryan Extreme: Series 3 - Chris Ryan

Bald was found by an old coworker Land to do a job. Land tempted him with a new life when he is no longer hunted by the Firm.

Lot of actions, lot of guns. Bald found out the the bad guy he is after also have the Russians chasing after him.

So he is in. For the money and for the freedom. During the chase, lot of betrayal and there is no trust anywhere. He don't really know who to trust.

And someone try to kill him too.

It is action pack. But Bald is not really a likable character. He is too trigger hapy to be a good person. And he is after the money instead of higher ideal. That's no good.

His moral compass is all weird as well. Plus he is kind of sexist.

Not likable character but might to closer to a not so sophisticated or educated persons. but highly trained in weapons. Scary world that the main character might died if he is not lucky or skill or both.

Character need to develop better. On the whole still good enough because of the action and the plot twist.

4 stars read.

Reading progress update: I've read 271 out of 326 pages.
Most Wanted Mission 1: Chris Ryan Extreme: Series 3 - Chris Ryan

John Bald is screwed.

Land, his former boss asked him to help get someone. This someone is a horrible person who tortured women for fun. He was then shot at and beaten up. A woman, Odessa, come into view only to be suspected to harm him too.

Bald is not really a good person to not find out more before killing someone. But then his companions are not good people either. There aren't many good persons in this book.

Action-wise. It is okay. Just don't know why the bad guys are so good at killing and escaping.

Started this book earlier and stopped to read Festive books. Picked this up again to finish it.

Door 18:  Hanukkah (Book task)
A Minute to Midnight (Atlee Pine series) - David Baldacci

Book: Read a book about light, miracles, featuring Jewish characters, set in Israel, that is the second book in a series, with the word “two” in the title, or with a light on the cover.

Atlee Pine is working through her aggression.

And she still wants so much to find out who has taken and killed her twin sister.

Now in her old home, she find out more about the past of her parents that she didn't know before.

There are a mix of persons around her.

Her assistance, Blum is a older woman with children. And a trusting ally.

Laredo is the man who wronged her before, and now met again. He said he was a changed man after his divorce.

Jack Lineberry, an older gentleman who knew her mother. And still holding back information from her.

And three murders. Who are the killer and why.

The story is mostly on Pine finding more about her past and his sister's murder. Some of the story is on the new murders, which seems to be a lot of running around interviewing persons of interest and discovering their lies.

Good story. For me, not the best, but still engaging enough to stay up reading.

Reading this for Door 18 with light in the cover. After all, this book is about hope.

Reading progress update: I've read 182 out of 432 pages.
A Minute to Midnight (Atlee Pine series) - David Baldacci

Atlee Pine is going back to her childhood home looking for answers. But all she found so far are more questions.

Her twin has gone missing when they were six. The supposing killer was now in jail. But this killer has not left anyone he kidnapped to escape death. So why did he spared Atlee? Or is he really the killer.

If he is not the killer, then either her sister's killer is still out there, or his sister might still be alive.

She found out that she didn't really know her parents. The past is coming back.

In the meantime, there are some dead bodies dressed up in vintage fashion item showing up. Who killed them and why.

This is what's going on so far in the book.

The development of the story is interesting. The setup is a bit slow for my taste but still engaging as there are more reveal of Pine's past, before she is a trained FBI agent.

Why do her parents lied to her?

Hope to find out soon.
