[These notes were made in 1982:]. Unlike a Beckett's other effusions, which are prosaic, these plays are actually prose. In extremely small type and double column, they come out to about 5 pp. each, which is quite enough. As with the other plays, they evince a fatal tendency to bad puns, and have little to recommend them in their farcical situations besides the fact that they'd probably be slightly less intolerable on the stage, provided the audience were in a good temper.
