"A Love Hate Thing" by Rashida Williams
Book Description...
"Andre deserves to die. He's a sick masochist with a fetish for young girls and hard drugs. Tracey has been the perfect victim for years but he makes a deadly mistake...
What started out as a romantic reunion for the estranged lovers ended in kidnapping and over twelve hours of torture for Tracey.
When she is finally set free she runs to the person who always bails her out when she is knee deep in drama: her best friend and mentor, Sandra. Hearing how Andre violated Tracey again told Sandra that it was time to introduce an unorthodox way to stop Andre permanently. Tracey is going to kill him and Sandra will teach her how.
The plan is done and the scene is set perfectly. All Tracey has to do is slip some poison in Andre's drink. Unfortunately, the plan goes horribly wrong and he escapes. Now Tracey has to find him and finish the job before it's too late."
From this read....
This was definitely one of those reads that is so full of domestic violence that it was a little hard for me to read but I did ponder on and was able to make it thought this urban read. I will say this author does know how to write a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat that did make me very nervous as the reader will be presented with some very intense and very disturbing scenes. At times I felt so sorry for Tracey who had such bad judgement in this situation only hoping she would finally get some good sense and move on away from that Dre person and learn to love herself more. Well, to see if that does happen the reader will have to pick up this read and read it for yourself how this will all come out. I will say that this isn't my favorite kind of reads....domestic violence but I will say the ending did put the icing on the cake...for that Dre and a few other characters in this read. Be ready for a read with some unexpected twist and turns... like the biological daddy showing up, however, if you keep reading this will be better understand from the read. "A Love Hate Thing" will take you on quite a journey with some drama that is simply off the chart. So, if you can hang it there you will get a unforgettable read.
