Reading progress update: I've listened 90 out of 675 minutes.
The Loney - Andrew Michael Hurley,Richard Burnip

When is the story going to start?! 90 minutes of nothing at all have happened. I may have to switch out my audiobook on the way home and try this at a later date because it may make me a road hazard. It is sooooo slow and, to be totally honest, boring. I'm going to have to restart from the beginning because I sleep-listened through most, if not all, of it.

Road of No Return by K.A. Merikan
Road of No Return - K.A. Merikan

Life is too short to read books that are doing nothing but making me crazy. It's time to DNF. 45% complete before I called it quits.

Zak is a tattoo artist and new to town. Stitch is a crusty biker soured on women, men and apparently life. As Stitch is drinking his recent divorce woes away in a local bar, Zak walks in and feelings that Stitch can’t outwardly express start a-stirring. He’s secretly in the closet, probably the reason his wife had had enough (well, there’s also his not-at-all charming personality). The two strike up a conversation, as you will, and Zak offers to cover up Stitch’s misguided tattoo of his ex-wife's name. It’s waaaaay up on his inner thigh but Zak decides to take a look right there anyway, as you will, and agrees to take on the job.

After he fixes the tat, well, things happen and then Stitch acts like an a-hole because he chooses to remain in complete denial about his sexuality. Well, there’s that and the fact that he’d probably be murdered by his MC if they knew. But basically, he's just a drug running, jealous, violent cretin and I won't be swayed into thinking otherwise.

Stitch comes across as a pushy jerk and worse and there isn’t much character development, if that’s what you’re looking for, but there’s plenty of action – if you know what I mean.

The Stupidest Angel by Christopher Moore (audio)
The Stupidest Angel: A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror - Christopher Moore,Tony Roberts

There's nothing more to say here really. I'm throwing in the towel. I am on disc 3 and have been so completely zoned out I feel like I may have to go all the way back to the beginning. I don't know if I'm just distracted, completely humorless or falling into another slump but this book could not entertain me and I have far too many others sitting here to force it upon myself. The angel is indeed stupid as promised but so are most of the other characters (and there are MANY of them) and it's all a little too wacky/zany for my current pissy mood.

And the upstairs, piled two deep and left untouched for months . . .

And this is where I begin. The biggest bookshelf in the basement with books jammed in here, there and everywhere, three deep. It is so daunting and messy and crazy making.
