"When we were friends", by Tina Seskis.
When We Were Friends - Tina Seskis

Top.

Wish You Were Here: A Novel - Renée Carlino

Oh, this book. There were times I was SO frustrated with Charlotte and times she actually had me crying. I actually cried through several parts of this book. And, when I finished, I cried some more.

This was such a heart rending story. I absolutely LOVED it. I knew something was up with Adam almost right away, but my guess about his issue was totally wrong. Yay!! The characters were so real and had me totally mesmerized and engrossed in their world.

A story about love, loss, growing up, and somewhat cheesy at times, that I absolutely loved and enjoyed.

Huge thanks to Atria Books and Net Galley for providing me with a free e-galley in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

Child Kidnapping in the 1930's
Before We Were Yours - Lisa Wingate

Historical fiction done right can be a fascinating read. This was done right, with well developed characters, excellent time line switches and what a connection at the end. This horrendous story of child snatching, murder, greed and abuse is not all dark there is good even in the darkest moments.
Rill one of 5 children taken from their parents riverboat in the 1930's while their mother and father rush to a Doctor when she's in a difficult labor. Rill clings to hope that her father and mother will come rescue her, while watching in hopelessness as her siblings slowly disappear. Current time Avery, a lawyer from a political family stumbles into a woman who grabs her bracelet and open's pandoras box into a dark time and some ugly truths.
Watching these two time lines slowly come together was heartbreaking at times and heartwarming at others. The strength to survive and flourish is so strong. the loses so horrifying. I wanted to step back into time and stop The Children's Home Society and strangle Georgia Tann.

And Then There Were Nuns: League of Literary Ladies - Kylie Logan

Homage to Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None (10 Little Indians).  Follows the original very well.  Who would want to kill a nun?  Why?  As Bea and the rest of the Literary Ladies look for clues, Bea's secret comes out as does Levi's.  I enjoyed this story.  Chandra is as crazy as ever and the reason is a hoot.  Hank trusts the Literary Ladies and they do what they do best.  I liked the librarians who were staying at Bea's.  Well done.  I look forward to reading the next book.
