Beyond Ontariese, Book One: Tal dar Aune, a powerful shape-shifting mage, comes to Earth on a desperate quest to find a mysterious woman before his nemesis destroys her. Little does Tal know the "helpless" female he's come to save is the key to peace on his war-torn world...or that he'll long to touch her, take her, make her his.Unaware of her royal roots or alien origins, Charlotte spends her first thirty years on Earth. Then Tal bursts into her life with all the subtlety of a thunder storm. He's rude, arrogant, and easily the most desirable man she's ever encountered. With a ruthless madman hot on their heels, they can't afford to be distracted by the attraction rapidly growing between them, but the emotions are too powerful to ignore.Note to Readers: This book contains detailed descriptions of sizzling passion only suitable for mature readers. From Cyndi: Taken by Storm is a futuristic action/adventure saga with scifi and paranormal elements. In other words, it doesn't fit neatly into one genre. But don't let that discourage you from giving the book a try. If you strip away the interdimensional portals and magic powers, you're left with human emotions and relatable challenges. Charlotte is a widow confronting her deepest fears while reality as she knows it is redefined. And Tal might be a shapeshifter, but his stubbornness and dedication to tradition are what make him seem real. Though each book can be read as a standalone, connecting plot threads and common characters make the experience richer if the books are read in series order. The first book is on me, so have fun!

This story blends Paranormal Romance with Sci-Fi and does a pretty good job. Tal, our hero, takes the shifter part of paranormal to a whole new level. There is time travel involved in this as well so make sure you don't skip anything as you could get lost! One of the things that I found quite puzzlin...
Twenty-something pages in, there was some unwelcome intimate touching (oh but she LIKED it!) that both made me uncomfortable and made me laugh. It. Was. Weird. Then (drum roll), insta-lust! Surprised? Nah. I almost put this down, but continued anyway (I was on the bike at the gym and it was en...
I didn't really care for this one. The beginning made no sense whatsoever, and there wasn't enough world building for my tastes to make things more clear. I couldn't connect with the characters or care about their war. Avoiding the series in the future.
I had tried reading this a while ago, but gave up for some reason. After finishing the story, I can't remember why I didn't finish it earlier. It's a nice little piece of escapism. I quite enjoyed it, most of the time. There were a few TSTL moments and I couldn't help but wonder how Charlotte mana...
It looks like I made it 1/3rd of the way through. I had to stop because it was way late and now I'm just not really interested in picking it back up at the moment. I'll give it another shot later.
