I would like to give 2.5 stars for this. It was ok, nothing wrong with it really but kind of lame. Maybe because I didn't read the rest of the series it felt contrived. I just couldn't buy the opening scene as anything that would happen in urban fantasy, sci-fi, real life or whatever.
