This is an incredibly informative book on an important issue all over the world. It's a quick read for anyone interested in brushing up on the subject and getting involved. Most of the information wasn't new for me as it was also mostly covered in Half the Sky, but it was sorted and presented differ...

2/5/14 ** One measure of good non-fiction is a well-researched story that helps the reader learn new aspects of a tale while also helping the reader integrate information s/he might already have known. I was fascinated to learn of how African-Americans have been systematically excluded from histor...

And Stone never seemed to quite clarify her position. I realize she was trying to be clear to both si...

This book took me less than an hour to read. I enjoyed it. It's one of the few "novels in verse" that I've read. I generally don't like the idea, but after this one...I may give the style another chance.

I really liked this book. It is a straight forward yet well-balanced read about everyone's favorite (or most hated) 12" fashion doll. It is also features a great biography of Barbie's creator. What I loved most about the book was how the creator of Barbie could be considered a role model for today's...
I Am Carina And I Speak For The Books!
This was a really easy read, it took me about 2 hours to read the whole thing. This is one of those books that I wish I would've known about in High School, and that'll I'll make sure my daughter reads. When I read some parts I was like 'Well why don't you follow your gut!' And then I would remember t...
