Jane True lives in a small town with people she mostly doesn't really fit in with. And it's not like the people in her town even try to make Jane feel like she belongs anyway. Especially since her boyfriend died eight years ago and most people feel that it was her doing. And if that wasn't bad enoug...

This book was just as cute as its cover and surprisingly creative and plot-rich. It's touted as an alternative to Sookie Stackhouse. Personally I see absolutely no similarities in theme, writing style or plot. In fact about the only similarity I can see is the cartoon-like cover. Which, by the way, ...

Having finished this book last night, I think I can sum up my feelings in a word.Meh.This is not a BAD book, by any stretch. The ideas are sound, the writing is clean, the plot clear and intelligible and it has a really great voice. In another book, I think the writing could probably have been upgra...

What can I say about a book I disliked wholeheartedly? Let's start with the beautiful cover. The cover art is original and unique and definitely stands out amongst many urban fantasy books and is completely accurate to the book. The Book Cover and the intriguing book synopsis got me all excited to ...

And the Sookie similarities were just too obvious. I understand that most subjects have been written to death but if you don't have...

This has been on my TBR forever. I finally read it for a challenge and so glad I did. Not a kick ass heroine type, Jane is still likeable, brave and funny. There's a bit of a chick lit feel but not as much as something like Queen Betsy. A fun book and entertaining world populated with intriguing...

Decent start to a fairly unique world, but I'm not sure if I'll continue the series or not. I never really bonded with Jane, and the foreshadowing was about as subtle as a flashing neon sign.

So honestly Tempest Rising was an ok read. Did it deserve the full 4 stars I gave it? Not really. Does it deserve 3.5 MAYBE 3.75 stars? Yes. Yes it does. To be honest I figured out the end before the halfway mark but I still was an enjoyable enough read. Jane, is one of those love hate characters fo...

I was a bit torn between if I liked it or if I really liked it, but I think my reaction at the end sealed it for a really liked it. I finished the last sentence and just said NO out loud cos I wanted more at once.Again I am wondering a bit about genres, yes it's UF, but she does kiss that vampire a ...
