I’m not a big urban fantasy reader, but I’d heard this one recommended a few ties so I tried it. I liked it, but it never fully engaged me and I found the semi-forced romance a bit off-putting (though handled MUCH better than it could have been). Readers of this series, does it get better? At the mo...

My first graphic audio audiobook. This was a lot of fun listening to, though I do feel like you miss something when sound effects replace descriptions.

Wonderful start to a series! The tone of this book reminded me of a cross between the early Anita Blake series(the first book is: Guilty Pleasures) and Patricia Briggs' Alpha & Omega series (Cry Wolf). If a friend hadn't recommended this series to me -- repeatedly, I wouldn't have read it. The cover doesn't call to me and urban fantasy just doesn...

Liked Wilks take on werewolves and other magical races, and how she managed to make the involuntary mate bond work with an independent heroine, and how it would be confusing for both parties. Thought the Chinese heritage of the heroine made a fresh angle.

It took me awhile to get into this book. Something about the pacing threw me off. I was also a bit confused about the world in the beginning. After awhile I fell into the story and ended up enjoying it. I like the direction Wilks has gone with paranormal aspect. Giving werewolves civil rights is pre...
