changed from 4 stars to 5. this story has been on mind a lot this couple of weeks, thinking about mildred and jesse and all of them. like a good painting, with time this story becomes even better!! so it's definitely a 5 for me.
I really enjoyed the characters and the story was intriguing, but the author didn't do a great job of explaining how the magic worked...even when magic was "happening," it was incredibly vague and I couldn't figure it out until the very end. And even then--I still didn't understand it all that well....

I don't know what I was expecting when I started this book, but it wasen't what I found. Non the less, it was beautiful and praisworthy. Another great work by one of my favorate authors.
