I thought this was a reasonably good romance. The tension leading up to the love scenes was great but the actual scenes were a bit of a let down and some of the writing was a bit contrived. A decent read that I would recommend to other romance readers but I wouldn't want to buy it or read it a secon...

The first two thirds of this was a good, if not particularly original romance. Maddy is a forthright, mature, goodhearted heroine, facing a difficult life with courage and ingenuity. Nash comes off as a bit of a weasel, showing very little respect or feeling for Maddy at first, but he's redeemable. ...

Very different from the other three books. It gelled cohesively and blended well with this series. I really liked it.

A nice read, but it didn't grab me by the heartstrings the way "His Captive Lady" did, and it wasn't as interesting in its setting as "To Catch a Bride". Luke's story is up next in this series, but I'm more interested in Marcus' story - hope it's a good one.
