This book was recommended to me by my aunt so I decided to check it out. This was a relatively short book filled with inspiration and with themes of love, destiny, and God. Overall I thought this was a good book. At times the whole follow your destiny got to be a bit much but other than that I don't...

I wasn’t expecting to read this book (it wasn’t even on my to-read list before I began it); my youth leader at church dropped it off for me for the next book club meeting we’re having on Wednesday. So, without knowing anything about it or even the story, I dove right in. Needless to say, I was impre...

The story itself was pretty good and I actually felt a connection with "the boy" and I internally cheered him...

BrazilThis is a good example of its genre, well-written and well-executed. It is not the fault of the book or the genre that I don't enjoy this genre. I understand this novel as allegorical and related to the search for a form of self-actualization that has a spiritual component. Perhaps I'd have en...

Had I read this at an earlier time in my life, I would have liked it a lot more. It reminded me a lot of The Little Prince, with its traveling main character and desert setting and Big Symbolic Images and Philosophical Themes. I don't know why, but I never connected with the characters or the story.
