Oh Sam. Why did you have to create such a charming character and do that to us Maas? Anyone having read the previous novellas and having read at least the summary of Throne of Glass, would assume the melancholy ending leading up to the main books. Heart-breaking. And this is only a short story. The Assassin and the Empire was the hardest and darkest novella of all four. Celaena and Sam left Arobynn but they’re still far from freedom. They need to accomplish one last assignment, which won’t be easy. And it seems that traitors are everywhere....
