This is about policy and a "get to know the candidate" book that those in public office write to make themselves more familiar to voters as the candidate vies for national office. U.S. Senator Obama wrote/published this back in 2006, so there are a lot of references to military operations in Iraq an...

While certainly not as autobiographical or as interesting as Dreams From My Father, Obama is clearly a gifted storyteller and orator. This one's worth a listen if you want to jump back 10 years, to hear the political stances of a man not yet elected.

I think i enjoyed this more than I would have if I read it. Listening to Barak Obama read this work made the difference for me. Hearing his thoughts in his own voice resonated with me more than anything else I think. It's nothing that I haven't heard before, but what I thought about as I was liste...

I've now finished this book, which I've been reviewing a chapter at a time. Before starting, I was concerned that it might lower my opinion of him. Many people have been rather dismissive, and perhaps that's why I didn't read it earlier. In fact, it has had the opposite effect. It's well thought out...

If he manages to practice only half of what he preaches here... Very insightful - and I could listen to Obama forever. :)

I could not help but think to myself, “Get a room,” as I finished the section titled “Our Constitution” in Senator Barack Obama’s most recently published book, [b:The Audacity of Hope|9742|The Audacity of Hope Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream|Barack Obama|http://ecx.images-amazon.com/image...

Is the American electorate wise enough to elect a candidate who gives intelligent but nuanced answers to complex problems? In this book Obama writes insightfully about politics, religion and social problems. He offers his ideas on how he believes American can best live up to it’s potential. At th...
