I liked it as much as I thought I would: a lot! The twists and turns were interesting and kept the plot impossible to pin down. The ending was a perfect setup for the next volume, although I'm trying to space these out because I only have the first three so far.

Is this really a book for children? The characters are unlikable, the events are depressing, the plot is violent and gloomy, the siblings are left in a dark hole with no hope of a light in their future. The only positive thing I can say about this book is how it was narrated. But overall it was bad.

These books were RAVED about throughout my childhood but I never really got into them. People LOVE these books, like they really do and have such a huge attachment to them. Maybe this isn't as broad of appeal of Harry Potter or...I don't know maybe I'm missing something but this book wasn't out of t...

I felt it was time to take a trip down memory land and to read something I hadn't read in a long time. And this series is the perfect one. Within the first few pages I remembered why I enjoyed them so much. With such a grim subject matter Snicket handles it brilliantly, witty and smart this book doe...
