What a disturbing. creepy and dark story with an awful and insane human being as a narrator. I liked the writing and build up of this story, but I cannot approve of the cruelty against the poor cat. And I sincerely hope that cats will haunt the narrator in his afterlife.

A short story that is very representative of the darkness of Poe's writing. Drink turns a once loving and compassionate man into a monster. A story of cruelty and revenge with wonderfully descriptive writing and some very startling moments. I have not read Poe in a while but he writes some wonderful...
