Written seventy-eight years ago, this book still feels modern and fresh. It's brimming with energy, humour, and sharp observations and has a twisty plot that kept me guessing right to the end. 'The Body In The Library' was published in 1942 but it feels fresh, light and modern. It has a cleve...

A fantastic Miss Marple, which has definitely improved for me on this reread. The mystery is wonderfully twisted and I´m still in awe how Miss Marple has been able to solve the murder. Miss Marple is amazing! And I particularly enjoyed that the vicar and his wife Griselda made an appearance as well ...

“What I feel is that if one has got to have a murder actually happening in one's house, one might as well enjoy it, if you know what I mean.” This is a Marple story, but I love the book nonetheless. The story follows the typical Christie formula - the impossible murder and a cast of suspects who...

This is my first Miss Marple book and I was a wee disappointed that she wasn't in it more. I haven't read a "cozy" murder mystery in a really long time, if ever, and it was a lot slower than I am used it. It was really good though and I was quite surprised at the end when the murderer was revealed. ...

Enjoyable, but too short for my liking.

I´ve got to admit, I admire Miss Marple´s deductive skills. I wouldn´t be able to solve a single one of her cases (even if there were enough clues to work with). Sitting in a corner, knitting and listening and watching closely what´s going on around her, that how she does it. Yet with this book, I w...

Another theme of my summer reading this year: favorite older mysteries, and unread mysteries by Christie. This is one I'd never read. Before we can figure out whodunnit, we have to figure out whatthehellisthisbodydoinghere? Personal copy
