I thought this book was WAY overhyped in my opinion..it was good, but it didn't rock my world like it was presented by the media.

Do I really have to tell you why I hated this book? It is obvious, I think, to anyone who is more than a casual reader that this book is profoundly awful. Cardboard characters. Unlikely plot points. The only redeeming aspect of the book is apparently the real-life beauty of the real bridges of Madis...

This book will remain forever my gold standard of bad literature - not because it was the worst book I ever read, but because this abysmal author took himself seriously! At first, I thought it was a parody of Hemingway, but no such luck. What an AWFUL book!!!!

Ughh!Trite plot, dull writingWatch the movie. It is a thousand times better than the book.
