Oree Shoth is blind to the mundane world but can see the magical, she's an artist and around her godlings play with humanity. Then she finds the body of a godling, dead. Only they're immortal and she's now caught up in a battle for lives and power. This just blew me away, I was enwraped in it, enth...

Series: Inheritance #2 I was tempted to give this book one star just because it kept going downhill, but I think I'll be generous. There was nothing really wrong with it; I just didn't care and only kept going to see how mildly it would end. It felt like nothing was happening even though stuff was...

I liked this one possibly even more than the last one, although I took longer to read it. :)Loved how sympathetic Oree managed to make Shiny. Loved that the theme of this book was basically "family is hard".

Ten years after the birth of The Lady, Shadow is a "new" city formed between roots of the Tree and the politics of the Arameri...

Reading this book was very strange, because I liked the beginning a lot less than The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms, and even though I knew everyone loved Oree, I was pretty indifferent to her. I also missed the main characters from the last book - I still think they didn't make nearly enough appearance...

The ending ruined it for me. I was all set to give this book a better rating than The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms despite my misgivings, but then the ending happened and it fell flat on its arse like a granny on spring ice. And it hurt. Spoilers ahead for The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms and The Broken...

I really enjoyed the frist book in the series, The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms. I liked Yeine and Nahadoth. Especially the Nightlord. He may be a god close to insanity but he was still someone i was rooted for. He was a sympathetic character. While the narrative wasn't the most coherent, what with the...

The Broken Kingdoms begins not too long after where The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms left off. How much time has passed exactly is not given. The Broken Kingdoms follows roughly a year in the life of Oree Shoth, who is blind in all ways but one. She can see magic, and in particular, God magic. Which ma...
