“The twentieth century’s greatest practitioner of the classic horror tale” – Stephen King about H. P. Lovecraft H. P. Lovecraft’s fiction reveals a universe that is vaster, darker, and stranger than anything previously imagined. His “cosmic horror” reflects a peculiarly modern philosophical belief system in which human beings are regarded as insignificant in light of the vastness of time and space. The especially Lovecraftian twist on this apocalyptic premise is that it is alien forces and powers at work in the universe that possess the potential for the ultimate destruction of mankind.  Reprinted here are many of Lovecraft’s most famous works, including “The Call of Cthulhu” (1928), “The Dunwich Horror” (1929), and “The Shadow Over Innsmouth” (1936).  These stories will introduce readers to Lovecraft’s pantheon of “gods,” his characteristic themes, his fictitious New England geography and, of course, the Necronomicon, Lovecraft’s famous invented book of occult secrets.

Comenzando con H.P. Lovecraft, este libro te atrapa, interesante, tiene su propia mitología y es corto. Espero leer Los Mitos de Cthulhu.

4.0 Call of Cthulhu and Other Stories
Classic short collection of Lovecraft with excellent narration (save for some of the odd accents purportedly from New England). Full of the usual horrors and ghastliness and madness driven by fear and doomed narrators and ancient hieroglyphics and wacky unworldly geometry. Good Halloween reading.

Very descriptive. I like the imagery used in the story. Also I think cthulthu looks cute in my mind. Haha... But then again I think it's media that had turned him cute. The overall plot on how the main character comes to terms with cthulthu is very interesting.

Oh my gods why did I wait so long to read this?! I am honestly a bit ashamed that I haven't read any of Lovecraft's work until now. This is the kind of weird, creepy horror I love (well, I'm also partial to classic ghost stories) and I can't wait to read more.If you like weird and freaky and you hav...
