This book was 100% adorable, and if I had found it as a middle-grade reader, I would have loved it. There were aspects of it that were wholly unbelievable, and the portrayal of both Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes was not canon, but I am no purist and didn't care a whit. The basic premise is that Sher...

I bought this for the kid a while back. I *certainly* didn't want to read it. One of my least favorite novels of all time was a Holmes knock off. Lucky for me, this year I've been trying to catch up on books that have been languishing unread on my shelves (vs. buying new books to languish). What Spri...

However, we know from the canon that Holmes often disgu...

This was a very quick read, and as such, my review will be quick as well. Overall, I enjoyed this book quite a bit, but there were some things that were a little off-putting for me. Initially, the writing -- using lots of dashes -- and sentence fragments, was a little hard to adjust to, but adjust I...

Oh, very good stuff. lovely descriptive writing and a smart, spunky heroine. I think I would have adored this as a 12 year old. Will most certainly be reading the rest of the series.
