I had originally read this book in 2002. A few weeks ago, I was volunteering at a book sale. There was a temporary pause in the activity and I picked up a copy of this book since I knew the author had created a light, easy to read series. I quickly got re-introduced to Jim Qwilleran and enjoyed a ...

The gimmick in this novel, the first of the "Cat Who Could" series, is a supercat, Koko, a regal S...

Although I started listening to the Cat Who series with The Cat Who Ate Danish Modern, The Cat Who Could Read Backwards is actually the first in this series of cozy mysteries. The narration was just as good as in the other book. Sadly, I couldn't say the same for the story itself.First, I think the ...

*3.5 Stars**The Gush* When I first read this book, I wasn't sure I'd like it because I had no real interest in journalism or cats. Yet, I not only enjoyed it, but I've come back to it again and again throughout the years. Why? Perhaps its the characters. Jim Qwilleran is an insatiably curious newspa...

3.5 starsThis was a cute, fun, read and a vast departure from what I normally read. But, did it for a challenge and had a good time doing it. I laughed with a lot of the slang used in it, since the book came out in the sixties. But overall it was a nice little whodunit. :)
