For Zachary Weston Christmas means sleeping on a churchyard bench in the freezing snow with nothing better in his future. Thrown out of his home for being gay, he is left without money or, it seems, anywhere to go. Until a stranger shows him that some people do give a lot more than a damn. Ben Ham...

I really enjoyed this story the first time I read it and I've enjoyed revisiting it on audio narrated by the awesome Sean Crisden just as much the second time.

Sometimes the number of books to choose from can muddy the waters a bit. I've had this one for awhile and have slipped it down on the TBR list more than once because something newer and shinier caught my eye. But I finally gave 'The Christmas Throwaway' it's turn and as is the case with R.J. Scott's...

Really sweet story. Zach leaves his family home on Christmas Eve after his father beats him up for being gay. Ben finds him sleeping on a bench outside the local church and brings him home. It turns out to be a wonderful Christmas. I enjoyed seeing Zach go from a scared kid to a somewhat confident a...

It WAS very nice to read, and in the end I did feel the end of book was there. But it didn't keep me quite so en...

This book was sweet and sad at times, I found myself reading it and not able to put it down. I am a huge fan of R.J. Scott and am quite partial to her work I have read quite a few of her books and always love them. The Christmas Throwaway was no different and I actually found it rather sad, and by t...

A wonderful, heart-felt Christmas story! Zach was so adorable, and I felt so badly for him, and I am very glad that Ben didn't put up too much of a fight. I was afraid his good guy, don't want to take advantage of you cuz you're so young thing might get in the way but so glad it didn't! Zach need...
