Mark Sway is 11 and knows where a body has been hidden. If the FBI can find the body, then they can prove that it was a Mafia murder, but Mark is too scared to tell the truth, so he hires a lawyer who must protect him both from the law and from the killers. "Penguin Readers" is a series of simplified novels, film novelizations and original titles that introduce students at all levels to the pleasures of reading in English. Originally designed for teaching English as a foreign language, the series' combination of high interest level and low reading age makes it suitable for both English-speaking teenagers with limited reading skills and students of English as a second language. Many titles in the series also provide access to the pre-20th century literature strands of the National Curriculum English Orders. "Penguin Readers" are graded at seven levels of difficulty, from "Easystarts" with a 200-word vocabulary, to Level 6 (Advanced) with a 3000-word vocabulary. In addition, titles fall into one of three sub-categories: "Contemporary", "Classics" or "Originals". At the end of each book there is a section of enjoyable exercises focusing on vocabulary building, comprehension, discussion and writing. Some titles in the series are available with an accompanying audio cassette, or in a book and cassette pack. Additionally, selected titles have free accompanying "Penguin Readers Factsheets" which provide stimulating exercise material for students, as well as suggestions for teachers on how to exploit the Readers in class.

I revisited this story more than 20 years after I first read it, and was pleased to find that it held up reasonably well. The characters and plot are still interesting, and it was just as fun to see 11 year old Mark and his lawyer work to out-maneuver the politicians, the FBI, and the mob. Grisham's...

This is my first John Grisham book and I can see what all the hype is about. His style of writing is trully interesting and entertaining. I thought the use of the different points of view was ingenious, quite the page-turner. I think that's why I reached to the middle of the book on the first day of ...

This is a fun book that also became a fun movie. When I read it I wanted to become a lawyer, so it obviously appealed. It's easy to read and will keep you tense. It's not brilliant, but then that doesn't mean it wasn't fun.
