In this third entry into the Harry Bosch Universe, we finally get more background on The Dollmaker case, which is really the case that catapulted Bosch to fame. Fine job by Connelly
~~Moved from GR~~ The Concrete Blonde by Michael Connelly (Harry Bosch #3) Wow. Just wow.The story centers around a previous case of Bosch's, the one which got him booted out of the elite homicide squad and into Hollywood. Bosch was on the case of the Dollmaker, a serial killer who hunted, raped, ...
I thought initially this would be a weaker book, because of the trial. Luckily I was wrong. A great Bosch novel.
Rating is 3.5 stars. The Concrete Blonde is simply another Harry Bosch mystery with the same old cliche's. There is enough there to warrant the read if you are really into rogue police detectives that are down on their luck. Personally, the storyline got a little long in the tooth for me.
A nostalgic trip to the past before cellphones, internet, Google, GPS...how did we ever get around? We watch as Harry Bosch is defended in a civil suit against charges of police brutality--he shot a (suspected) serial-killer in suspicious circumstances. Harry's defense attorney is a bottom of the ba...
Excellent read. For those that enjoy police thrillers this one is sure to keep your interest. Quite honestly it wasn't until the very end that I figured out who "done it". Harry Bosch at his best.
This was a very good book. Connelly did a wonderful job at bringing together the court case and the murder mystery. I enjoyed this book much more than the first two books in the series. I was hooked into the story right away and just could not put it down.
I probably would give this book 3.5-stars, but I decided to round up instead of down.Every time I read any book with courtroom drama I remember how much I like them.
