It's November 1971, and a Northwest Orient Airlines Boeing 727 en route to Seattle, Washington is hijacked by a man who went on to demand a $200,000 ransom before parachuting from the plane and apparently disappearing. A small bundle of bills carrying the serial numbers of the bills paid to Cooper would later surface in a riverbed in 1980, but no other trace of the hijacker would ever be found.

Soon after the disappearance of DB Cooper, a copycat hijacking was attempted by Richard McCoy. McCoy initially parachuted to earth successfully with a $500,000 payment, but was arrested just two days later. Despite significant circumstantial evidence to the contrary, McCoy always denied that he was the mysterious DB Cooper.

Were DB Cooper and Richard McCoy really the same person, or were the attempts by the FBI to pin the blame on McCoy a conspiracy to cover up their own inability to find the real hijacker?

The Conspiracy Files series lifts the lid on some of the world's most notorious mysteries, unexplained events and possible conspiracies. The narrative examines the accepted version of events, considers their veracity, and investigates the potential for conspiracy and cover-up.

There are a total of eight books in the Conspiracy Files series, with multi-book bundles comprising four books offering the best value for money.
