The blurb and storyline gleaned from descriptions and reviews seems intriguing, but the pacing, writing-style and Mary-Sue orphan characters really made me feel it was perhaps not worth it. A possible return if I completely run out of anything else to read.

I had very high hopes for this one, but I’m sad to report I didn’t make it through it. I did get to the end of Chapter 12, though – almost 1/3 of the book. But by then I was tired of trying to decipher what was going on, and I couldn’t make myself care anymore.Not to say I didn’t like the characters...
