Did Erikson ever really have an end in sight, or did he simply bow to pressure to provide some closure? Personally, I would have been quite content for the series to simply continue . . . this seemed forced and awkward, and left me feeling empty.
UPDATE: 7/15/13 - While I do not regret rereading all ten books in the series, I'm glad it's finally over. Whew. The only additional observation I would make at this point is that it's become clearer to me that one of the major themes in the Book of the Fallen is "Are we [humans] worth saving?" and ...
