This series has finally hit its stride with the third volume. The comedy is ratcheted up a bit even as the stakes spiral higher and higher. Aileen just grabbed the place of favorite character within pages of her introduction and I love love LOVE her.
Ooh, things are starting to pick up, starting to get serious, even brutal. There are little bits of the story that we know from the series here, like Roland being absorbed in Maerlyn's Grapefruit and being tricked by it, but the majority of this episode is new. Like the second collection, Dark Tower The Long Road Home, this was new, original material and it was AWESOME. I can never get enough of Roland and Mid-World and, despite not much face time for Roland himself, this did not disappoint. Recommended for Dark Tower fans.
Finally, we're breaking new ground here. While the last volume of the Dark Tower comic series contained some insight into what was going on with Sheemie in the immediate aftermath of the events in Hambry, this collection really does break into some new territory with the addition of a new character...
