Good enough to continue the series but didn't go deep enough into the curses/talents to really have me connect. Light and entertaining, easy to read though.

Ya know, for having surprisingly little sex in it, I sure felt like I was reading a sex-centric book.

I've heard great things about this series. I'm very glad that I finally checked it out. It has lots of sexiness, action and a really good story going on. All of the Lords are stuck with a demon. There's a battle brewing. I'll definitely keep to reading to see where it goes.

Read mostly like a Black Dagger Brotherhood clone, but waaaaay more problematic and much less fun. Instead of alpha vampires fighting poorly motivated eunuch zombies, we have immortals possessed by demons fighting poorly motivated...research organizations? You see my issue. The Darkest Night is one of my favorite books to re-read. It combines a mythological world that is unique to the growing genre, sizzling sex that never ever gets old, and characters that continue to delight. Maddox and Ashlyn make a dynamite couple! Showalter was smart to start this series with such...

Apparently I don't remember a lot of what went on the first time I read this. Now that I was paying attention, this was still a lot of fun to read. As with first books, there's a lot of world building that goes on. But I'm not sure if just I took for granted that I already knew what was going on or ...

Opening line: " Every night death came, slowly, painfully, and every morning Maddox awoke in bed, knowing he'd have to die again later. As a fan of paranormal romance and in particular JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood my searches for what to read next kept taking me to this series. That's not t...

Thank the stars this book was not totally terrible. After reading the prequel, I didn't know what to expect and I was pleasantly surprised at what I discovered. It's almost as if it was written by a completely different person and I say almost only because every now and then a paragraph would come u...
