I ended up quite liking this but it could have gone either way right up until the last few chapters. This isn't so much a review as a random collection of my thoughts about the book. All over the place, but then so was the book... It's a time travel book written in 1957 about a man living in 197...

(Original Review, 1980-07-28)Probably the biggest role for a cat outside of Norton is in Heinlein's A DOOR INTO SUMMER --- the hero talks more to his cat than he does to the woman he ends up marrying.[KK: That doesn't surprise me; Heinlein seems to hate all human females over the age of 12. If y...

This story is definitely amusing fluff, which seems right for a short sci-fi novel written in the 1950's. I best liked Pete the cat and that the story does not take itself too seriously. Its attitude toward its female characters is pretty awful, though, even taking into account that was written in t...

Time travel, cryogenics, suspended animation, and then spread this through two different eras of the 70's and the year 2000. This is a fun trip that involves a crazy inventor, deception, romance, and a feisty tomcat. And to top it all off RAH wrote about these two eras in 1957!

I really enjoyed this book from beginning to [almost] end. The reason for the "almost" will become apparent. The story of time travel by various means was excellent. When reading this story, you should remember that it was written in the 1950s. Some of Heinlein's predictions are amazing, and some ar...

Yeah, this was not my favorite Heinlein ever. It had such promise. I like Heinlein, I like time travel stories, win-win, or so one would think. Look, this isn't a horrible novel. It's an OK novel. The prose is serviceable, the tone is light and funny, the plot is...well it's alright. This all points...
