The world building is great. The story drags at times though. And I would have liked more relationship building. This was a lot of insta-lust followed by love. Very little nonsexual interaction.
An interesting and imaginative read, although I had a few issues.The story: It's our world, but there are those who exist who can "dreamwalk" or when they sleep, they enter the dreamworld of Somnus, lucid and having powers, while drone-like zombies mill around (that's us when we're sleeping.) This was a great read and I am looking forward to the next installment. I didn't dig the world-building and the whole dream-scape thing so much and this is why I was a bit sceptic at first. I didn't start to love the dreamy thing, exactly as I expected. But what happened was a very nice romance....
