This was one of the first freebies I picked up for my Kindle a couple of years ago. I have so many freebies I got and have never got round to reading them, so I now have a policy if I can make it past the first 10-15% its a keeper. Review will contain some ranty spoilers. The first 10-15% wasn't a...
I got this as a Kindle freebie. The reviews on Amazon and here were decent. I could hardly get through it. The writing was stiff at best. The plot was slow and seemed under devolved in certain areas. The only character I actually liked was Phil's.
It was a fast easy read, but I agree with some of the other reviewers that the main character was a bit whiney and needy. It made no sense that she would fall in love with this guy after like 5 min. I stuck with it though and I think the next books will be better since they are already in love and we...
I really couldn’t decide what to rate this 2 1/2 stars I guess. I kept going back and forth between it’s ok and I kind of like it. It reminded me a bit of Twilight (think gorgeous guy saves helpless girl multiple times despite her stupidity, stalks her and drives really fast), the TV series Moonligh...
I wavered between 2 and 3 stars because this book was a solid 2.5 for me. This could have used another round of workshopping/editing to tighten up some of the language and inconsistencies. But it was a fun light, "special girl meets mysterious boy who turns out to be vampire (but the good kind!) but...
I can't give half stars here. Three stars is close enough. If I could it would be more like 2.5 stars. So what did I think? I didn't particularly like it. I promise you I have good reasons. They are:It felt like it took FOREVER for the story to get going. Nothing happened for a long time. And by the...
Ok first off I'm going to tell you I'm a bit biased in my review. I am a Northern California girl and the places that Brenda writes about in this book are close to my heart. As a child I went camping in Scott's Valley with my Grandparents in the redwoods and, I have spent many a spring break at the ...
“Likeable Heroine Battles Vampires”I’ve chatted with friendly author Brenda Pandos online and I’ve wanted to read her Talisman series for quite some time. When I won The Sapphire Talisman on a Goodreads giveaway, it was my cue to bump up the series on my to-be-read list! The Emerald Talisman is the ...
Before this review officially begins, I feel the need to make a statement. I love vampires. My adoration is so strong in fact that it creates difficulty for me when reading vampire based novels. As a girl who grew up reading Anne Rice, my vampires have a certain image to uphold. They need to ooze bl...
