Definitely not as classic as The House with the Clock in its Walls. Most jarring was the change of illustrators. Mercer Mayer (!) .... doesn't really come from the same planet that Edward Gorey does. Now don't get me wrong, I love me some Little Monster, and he actually captures the new character...
