Since two years, the forest beside Kushalpur has become a dangerous place. The cries of cheetahs and leopards shatter the silence of the night.Naturally, no one goes into the forest any longer. It is a Forbidden Forest.Abhi, who is visiting from Mumbai, learns from Grandpa there is a mystery attached to the forest. It is not at all natural for wild animals to roam this forest because the real dense jungle is higher up on the hills and extends on the other side into the valley. There is a lake in the valley too.Animals usually do not stray far from their drinking hole and dense forest cover. What is behind this strange animal behavior? Is it linked to the factory that appears to be shut down but isn't?Read on to find out.....EXCERPT:Abhi went back to the wall. He was caked in dry clay and found it difficult to climb but managed to slowly pull himself up. Before jumping down to the other side, he checked to see whether the bull was around. It was not in sight but he heard his name spoken.A girl was speaking and she sounded very angry. "Where is Abhi? He left with you as soon as he arrived. I immediately guessed you were playing some crazy practical joke on him. Where is he? Wait till I tell Grandpa!"Abhi saw a small girl, with a fair and chubby face and big grey eyes, at the centre of the group. He guessed she should be Neela. He pulled himself over the wall and called out, "Hello Neela! I'm here."Neela didn't look surprised at a red figure speaking to her. She turned to the group, "Come on, all of you. Will you take the mud bath on your own or should I tell Grandpa?""Neela! It was a joke. Abhi understands. Actually things got out of hand because Kareem's mad bull came charging down this way.""What were you doing here? Why did you bring him here? Tell me," Neela pressed."Neela, isn't it better we wash the mud off Abhi first?" Rajan suggested."Yes, we will but after reaching home. That way I won't have to tell Grandpa anything. He'll know it was Uday.""Motu, Rajan, Dinesh, come! Neela! You're the worst sister! Wait till I catch you at something. You're a sneak and a pain in the neck and I'm fed up of you!" Uday stomped off and his friends followed. Neela beckoned to Abhi and they went after the others.Abhi didn't understand what they were up to until Uday ran ahead and jumped into the red clayey water. Abhi stopped the others. "Stop, you don't have to jump."
