by Ellen DeGeneres
..this wasn't so funny as I expected. It has the usual Ellen jokes,but...ahh it just wasn't the same as her most recent book. And y'all know how much I liked that one! I listened to this to maximize the experience, though I didn't find her tone to be as casual as I am used to. And that ruined it...
Abandoned with 20 minutes to go...I just couldn't listen to this anymore. I used to like Ellen, but now I just think she's irritating and trying too hard (and failing) to be funny. Okay, I still think she's cool, but I just won't read any of her books.
A funny book filled with silly stories. I will admit watching Ellen DeGeneres is funnier than reading her work, because of her timing and body language, but this book is still quite humorous.
Oh, I wish I had read this before picking up Seriously ... I'm Kidding. The Funny Thing is... did make me laugh - of course, it's Ellen after all - but, with the exception of a few chapters, it is not as coherent and thought-provoking as her next book. However, it was the same format as her newest--random things compiled into a short book. This book actually contained more personal information but it was limited. It had m...
Not quite what I expected, but I do love Ellen! She should just stick to stand up.
This was not as funny as I thought it would be, especially with the title and written by Ellen. I love her. But I guess her comedy it just not as funny as some of the other comedians I enjoy. Don't get me wrong, I laughed a couple times, but I really thought I'd be laughing more than I was. Hmm. Oh ...
I went into this mistakenly thinking it was a biography but what it amounts to is stand-up comedy in the written form. While bits of it were cute most of the book wasn't particularly funny and it often seemed to just ramble on. I did learn that Ellen eats veal (ugh, but I think she's veg now) and th...
