I don't read many shifter books, but this one was absolutely the bomb. So now I have to continue on with the next book. l highly recommend this book to all shifter lovers. ☺

Okay, I really would have liked this book...if I hadn't read The Darkest Powers series first. The Catch-22 of that is that you kind of have to read the Darkest Powers first. Well, that was a lie. You don't have to. But it certainly makes a lot more sense if you do. I can't help comparing this to The...

I started reading this after I had gotten 27% into The Calling (the second book in the trilogy) and realized I was reading the wrong book. I thought at first that the author had just dropped me right into the action and would give backstory as we went along (or do one of those "48 hours earlier" lik...

I actually got to pre-read the Dutch translation of this first book of the newest series by Kelley Armstrong. As I had never read anything by her before, I didn't really know what to expect. It turned out to be an interesting story about some Native American folklore, something I don't know anythi...

3 stars. So, yes, The Gathering was, in a way, exactly what I expected. Except it didn't venture into the way I wanted to, nor did it surprise me. Shape-shifters? Yeah. Cougars, cats, mountain lions? Yeah, sure. But the story, in all honesty, was lame, and didn't much concern me. Rafe was .... all r...

My re-read didn't leave me with the same 5-star feeling as the first time but that may be due to the number of really great YA books I've read in the last two years since. I still love the character of Maya and the setting of Vancouver Island and of course the closeness Maya feels towards animals. I...
