For more reviews, check out my blog: Craft-CycleI will start by saying that I enjoyed the audiobook of this one better than the first. The first audiobook was narrated by the author, a quality that I usually very much enjoy as the author has insight the reader doesn't and it comes across in the way ...
I’d read the first few books in this series when they came out and then got somewhat distracted. I did like this one, but I didn’t feel the same level of engagement/enjoyment as I once had. I’m not sure if this is a function of being older or if there’s a flaw in the book itself.
Valente is one of those authors that makes me feel incredibly conflicted in the sense that her writing is always an astounding work of art that I adore and makes me hate everything. Her prose is SO. GOOD. It is good to a level I would be able to forsake all plot and sense to enjoy on its own terms, ...
As magical, whimsical and enchanting as the first book, though somehow not quite as charming since it lacks that complete newness and thrill of discovery, as a second book so often does.

The sequel to the brilliant and beautiful Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making, The Girl Who Fell Beneath Fairyland returns to September a year after her battle with the Marquess. She's beginning to wonder if it was all a dream after all when she spots a rowboat containing ...
You guys saw this coming. You all saw how I fangirled over The Girl Who Ruled Fairyland - For a Little While and The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making by Catherynne M. Valente. You saw how much I LOVED those books. So it should come as no surprise that I read and squeed ...
Catherynne Valente's world building and fantastic writing style is very much present in her second Fairyland book. I really liked how she related events from the first book in the second one but still giving the second book its own life. Again, the world that was created in this book was very appeal...
